Red Maple

(Acer rubrum) This maple is usually small or medium in size, but may be 100 feet tall. The lobed and toothed leaves are 2-1/2 - 6 " long and about as wide, with a whitened underside. The small red flowers develop in clusters before the leaves. The winged fruits are fused in pairs and are dull to bright red. Red Maple is a beautiful tree from early spring untl autumn in both form and color as it presents first red, then green, and again red. 125 feet max.
